
Brian Boruta, Founder/Producing Artistic Director
Mr Boruta is the Founder and Producing Artistic Director of Theater906. A noted performer, director, producer and designer, Brian's work has been seen extensively on the east and west coast.
Directing credits include: with 906 - Sweneey Todd The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, Godspell, Bar Exam. Elsewhere - Seussical the Musical, The Mobsters of Framingham, The Actor's Nightmare, Sister Mary Ignatius Explains it All for You. Favorite on-stage credits include Billy Lawlor (42nd St.) for which Brian was recognized with a DASH Award nomination, (Best Lead Actor in a Musical), Judas/John the Baptist (Godspell), Cosmo Brown (Singin' in the Rain) Austin (True West) and Greg (A Chorus Line) Brian was also lucky enough to spend 2 years touring regionally with the Whodunnity Murder Mystery Dinner Theater Company, performing in 6 original murder mystery productions.
As a designer and educator, Brian has worked with numerous college, high school and community groups including Goddard College, Framingham State University, The Emerson Umbrella Center for the Arts, The Performing Arts Center of MetroWest, Brookline and Chelsea Public Schools. Currently he is the Technical Director and Events Manager at the Wellesley Public Schools. Brian also spent a season working with Broadway producer Spring Sirkin as an Assitant Production Manager helping to execute and organize four concurrent national tours of educational theatre.
Most recently, Brian earned is Master of Fine Arts in Interdisciplinary Arts from Goddard College where he focused his research on solo performance, psychological theory and identity politics. His solo performance piece UnMasqued has been workshopped and performed at the Wheeler Theater in Port Townsend, WA. Currently, Brian is focusing his creative interests on Queer Identity and is working on writing a collective voice piece entitiled I Knew When aka The Gay Play.
